A Softer Finish for a Bold Fitting

The Brindley wall light is normally finished in raw hammered brass, but this version pairs that same hammered texture with a chalky, matt white Flock coating. The shade still swivels on its knuckle joint exactly as the brass original does, throwing light wherever you angle it, but the white coating gives it a calmer, more architectural look on the wall.

Hammered Brass Under Flock Matt White

Underneath the coating is the same hand forged hammered brass used across the Brindley range. You can still feel that uneven, hammered texture through the matt white finish on the shade and arm. The rim and the swivel joint stay in polished, uncoated brass, and the inside of the shade is left in bright brass too, so switching the light on reveals a warm gold glow against the cooler white exterior.

• Takes one 6W maximum LED bulb with an E14 fitting (bulb not supplied)

Where It Works Best

Because the shade points light in one direction rather than spreading it evenly, this fitting works well anywhere you want a focused pool of light rather than general room lighting. Try it either side of a bed in a bedroom, above a table in a dining room, or in a hallway where a flat ceiling light would feel dull. It also earns its place in a kitchen or living room as a secondary light, layered in alongside your main fitting.

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, previously a metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop using the same hand forged steel and hot forged brass and copper as everything else they make. The hammered brass shade on this Brindley wall light is shaped by that same hand forging process, before the Flock coating is applied on top.

Does this wall light come with a bulb?
No. It takes one 6W maximum LED bulb with an E14 fitting, and the bulb is not included.

Can this light be dimmed?
Yes, but only if you fit dimmable LED bulbs. It will not dim with standard, non dimmable bulbs.

Can I adjust the angle of the shade once it is installed?
