The Brindley is a dome pendant with a distinctive two tone look. This version comes in Upstream, a rich blue finish over hand hammered brass, so the smooth outer shade contrasts with the warm textured brass glowing from within once the bulb is lit.
The outside is finished in a matte Upstream blue, while the inside keeps the natural hammered brass visible, with small dimpled marks left by the hand forging process. That hammered surface catches and reflects the light, giving a warmer, more textured glow than a plain metal shade would.
How It Works
- Single pendant light, supplied with a matching blue ceiling rose.
- Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, so the drop height can be adjusted to suit the room.
- Takes one E27 LED bulb, 6W maximum (bulb not included).
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height, with a 120mm diameter ceiling rose.
Where It Works Best
The adjustable drop makes it easy to hang two or three together over a kitchen island, or use it on its own over a dining table. It also works well in a living room or hallway where a single, warmly lit pendant adds character to the space.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop.
The Brindley's hammered brass interior is a direct result of that hand forging tradition, shaped and finished by hand at the same workshop before the Upstream blue is applied to the outer surface.
