A Softer Take on a Workshop Classic

The Brindley pendant carries the same hand formed dome shape that runs through From The Anvil's lighting range, but the Tump finish gives it a gentler character. This pale, greyed green sits over a solid brass shade, so the familiar factory profile reads as calm rather than industrial. Switch it on and the hammered brass interior throws back a warm, uneven glow rather than a flat wash of light.

The Tump Finish

Tump is a soft, pale green with a hint of grey, more hillside lichen than bold colour. It sits on the outside of the shade over solid brass, while the inside is left as hammered brass, unlacquered and full of small dents and facets that catch the light. The contrast between the matte pale exterior and the warm gold interior is what gives this pendant its character up close.

• Single pendant light, takes one E27 LED bulb rated 6W maximum (bulb not included)
• Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb

• Shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height, with a 120mm diameter ceiling rose

Where It Works Best

Its 260mm shade is compact enough to hang in multiples above a kitchen island or breakfast bar, spaced out in twos or threes for even light. Hung singly, it works well centred over a dining table, in a hallway, or as a softer accent in a living room where texture matters as much as light.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley pendant is shaped and finished at that same Welsh workshop, its hammered brass interior a direct result of the hand forming process the brand was built on.

• What bulb does this pendant need? It takes a single E27 LED bulb rated at 6W maximum, which is not included and needs to be bought separately.
• Can I dim this light? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb and use it with a compatible dimmer switch.
• How long is the cable? It comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, which can be shortened at installation to set the drop height you want.
