The Teasel Finish

Teasel is applied over a solid brass shade, so underneath that soft off white coat sits a warm metal that's hand hammered to create small, irregular dents across its surface. The hammering catches the light from the bulb and throws it in soft, uneven patterns rather than one flat beam, which is what gives this pendant its distinctive glow. The outside stays a clean, understated cream, so it sits happily against most wall colours and cabinetry.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting became part of the range later, still produced at the same Welsh workshop, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley pendant carries that same hand finished character, with its hammered brass interior forged rather than simply pressed into shape.

• Can I dim this pendant? Yes, as long as you fit a compatible dimmable LED bulb, since the fitting itself doesn't include one.
• What bulb does it take? It takes a single E27 LED bulb rated at 6W maximum, which needs to be bought separately.
• Can I hang more than one together? Yes, the Brindley's compact 260mm diameter makes it easy to group two or three above a kitchen island at slightly different drop heights.
