The Brindley pendant is one of From The Anvil's most distinctive shapes, a deep dome shade with a wide, flared rim that throws light in a bold, directional pool. This version pairs that shape with a striking two tone finish, so it works just as well as a single statement pendant or grouped in multiples.
The shade is hand finished in a deep, matt Elan Black on the outside, a flat, chalky black that reads as almost graphite in daylight. Turn it over and the inside is hammered brass, left in its natural polished state so every dent and dimple catches the light differently. The contrast between the matt black exterior and the warm, textured brass interior is the whole point of this piece, and it becomes even more obvious once the pendant is lit.

Where It Works Best
Group two or three together above a kitchen island or a long dining table for a strong, graphic run of light. Hung singly, it works just as well over a table, at the end of a hallway or as a reading light in a living room corner.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, in Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Brindley's hammered brass interior is a direct result of that hand forging process, and every shade still carries the individual marks of the tools used to shape it.
