From The Anvil Hammered Brass Brindley Pendant - Dusk (Dark Blue/Grey)

The Brindley pendant is a dome shaped light with a hammered brass interior that throws a warm, dappled glow rather than a flat white wash. This one is finished in Dusk, a deep, dark blue grey exterior that gives the classic factory pendant shape a moodier, more contemporary edge.

The Dusk Finish

Dusk is a dark blue grey powder finish applied to the outside of the shade, while the inside stays in raw hammered brass. The hammering catches the light unevenly, so the glow it throws is soft and textured rather than uniform. Because the inside is brass rather than painted steel, it will develop a little variation in tone over time, which only adds to its handmade character.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop, and this Brindley pendant carries the same hammered brass, hand finished approach the brand built its name on.
