What sets this version apart is the contrast inside the shade. Lift your eyes to it and you see hand hammered brass catching the light, a world away from the plain painted finish on the outside.

Dingle Green, Hammered Brass

This particular Brindley is finished in Dingle, a rich, deep green that sits closer to bottle green than sage. It is applied to the outside of the dome only. Turn the shade up and the interior is hammered brass, left in its natural gold tone so the hand worked texture is on full display. Every dimple in the brass is a mark of the hammer, which means no two shades will ever look quite identical.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and has grown into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The hammered brass interior of this Brindley pendant is a direct product of that hand forging tradition, made at the same Welsh workshop where the company started.
