The Brindley pendant is a dome shaped ceiling light with a hammered brass interior that throws a warm, dappled glow once it's switched on, rather than a flat single beam. This version comes in From The Anvil's Birch finish, a soft pale grey exterior that keeps the fitting understated while the hammered brass underneath still catches and scatters the light.

A Pale Grey Exterior With a Hammered Brass Heart

The outer shade is finished in Birch, a muted pale grey that reads as calm rather than stark white. Turn your eye to the inside of the shade and the story changes: the interior is hammered brass, worked by hand so no two dimples fall in quite the same place. That texture is what breaks the light into a soft, uneven glow, and it's also what you see first when you look up into the shade from below.

Where It Works Best

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The hammered brass interior on this Brindley pendant is a direct result of that hot forging process, each mark a small trace of the hand work that goes into it before the Birch finish is applied.

What bulb does this pendant take?
It takes a single LED E27 bulb, 6W maximum. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to buy one separately.

Is the Brindley pendant in Birch dimmable?
Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. It will not dim with a standard, non dimmable LED.

Can I return this pendant if I change my mind?
No. This pendant is handmade to order at From The Anvil's workshop in Wales, so like all From The Anvil fittings it is non returnable once the order is placed.
