A cluster that plays with height and light

The Brindley cluster pendant groups five to six hand hammered brass shades on their own cables, dropping from one round ceiling rose. In this Slate finish the domes are coated a cool mid grey, so the fitting reads calm and contemporary rather than industrial, while the hammered brass rim and interior still catch and scatter the light underneath.

The Slate finish

Slate is a matte mid grey powder coat applied over solid hand hammered brass. The hammering is done by hand, so no two shades are quite identical, and that texture stays visible on the polished brass rim and the inside of each shade even once the grey coat is on the outside. Switch the light on and the hammered brass interior glows warm gold against the cool grey exterior, giving the cluster real depth rather than a flat block of colour.

How It Works

• Cluster of five to six shades, each hung on its own cable from a single ceiling rose, 400mm diameter
• Lamp size per shade: 260mm diameter x 270mm, with a minimum overall drop height of 1500mm
• Each shade takes an E27 bulb, 6W Max LED (bulb not supplied)
• Dimmable if dimmable LED bulbs are fitted
• No integrated LED, so any compatible E27 bulb can be used and swapped later

The staggered drops make this a natural centrepiece over a dining table or kitchen island, where the varying heights add movement without crowding the space below. It also works well in a living room, hallway or bedroom wherever you want a single striking cluster rather than a row of matching pendants.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, with lighting produced at the same Welsh workshop. The hand hammered brass in this Brindley cluster is a direct product of that forging process.
