A Cluster Pendant With A Softer Side

This Brindley cluster pendant groups five hammered brass domes on one ceiling rose, hung at staggered heights so the light falls at different levels rather than one flat line. It is the same hardworking cluster shape as the rest of the Brindley range, but finished in a much lighter colour, so it suits rooms where a black or bronze cluster would feel too heavy.

Flock Matt White Over Hammered Brass

Each dome is finished in Flock, a chalky matt white with a slightly powdery feel rather than a hard shine. That paint sits on the outside only. Inside, the brass is left exposed and hand hammered, so once a bulb is switched on the light catches every dent in the metal and scatters it into a soft, dappled glow. A narrow band of bare brass also runs around the rim of each shade, giving the white body a warm edge.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop.

The hammered texture on this Brindley pendant is shaped by that same hot forging process, before the Flock paint is added over the top.
