The Brindley Cluster Pendant groups five to six hand shaped brass domes on a single ceiling rose, each one hung at its own drop to create a staggered, sculptural silhouette overhead. In this Birch colourway the domes wear a soft, pale grey exterior, a quieter look than bare metal, while the material underneath keeps its handmade weight and texture.

The Birch finish

Birch is a smooth, pale grey finish applied over the hammered brass shade. From outside the grey reads calm and contemporary, working well against white or panelled walls. Turn a head on and the effect changes completely. The interior is left in bare hammered brass, so the light that spills out is warm and slightly dappled, broken up by the hand hammered texture rather than sitting flat.

Where It Works Best

The staggered cluster suits spaces where you want more than one point of light and some visual rhythm overhead. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, with lighting added to the range and produced at the same Welsh workshop. The hammered brass inside every Brindley shade, including this Birch cluster, is a direct product of that hot forging process.
