A Cluster of Shifting Colour in Burnished Brass

The Brindley cluster pendant groups five to six domed shades together, each spun from solid brass and finished by hand in a burnished treatment that draws out deep, shifting colour across the metal. Hung at staggered heights from a single round ceiling plate, it reads as one continuous fitting rather than several separate lights.

The Burnished Finish

Burnishing works directly into the surface of the brass, drawing out streaks of amber, brown and deep bronze that shift as the light catches them. Because each shade goes through the process by hand, the pattern on one will never quite match another, so the cluster carries genuine, one off variation from shade to shade.

How It Works

Where It Works Best

Grouped at different drop heights, it makes a strong feature above a dining table or kitchen island, where the varying levels give the arrangement some movement. It works equally well filling a stairwell or a tall hallway, and its warm burnished tones suit a bedroom or living room that's already leaning into deeper, richer colours.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware that still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Brindley cluster's burnished shades are hot forged and finished at that same Welsh workshop, each one individually hand treated rather than machine coated.

Questions People Ask

Is the Brindley cluster pendant dimmable?
Yes, as long as every shade is fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A standard, non dimmable bulb will prevent dimming even with a compatible dimmer switch.

Does it come with bulbs?
No, bulbs are sold separately. Each shade takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E14 fitting.

Will the burnished finish look the same on every shade?
No. The finish is applied by hand, so small variations in colour and pattern between shades are part of the finish rather than a fault.

Why is this pendant non returnable?
Each one is made to order at From The Anvil's Welsh workshop rather than held as ready made stock, so orders can't be returned once placed.
