A Large, Sculptural Shade With Real Presence
The Hockley pendant is a single ceiling light with a wide, cone shaped shade that makes an impact even hung on its own. Hand spun from solid brass, then finished in a matt aged brass, it has a bold silhouette without relying on any extra ornamentation.
Hand Finished in Aged Brass
Each Hockley shade is spun from a single sheet of solid brass, then hand polished to soften the aged finish and bring out warm variation across the metal. Because the finishing is done by hand, small tonal differences between fittings are part of the character rather than a flaw.
How It Works
- Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
- Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable, so the drop height can be adjusted to suit the room.
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E27 fitting, bulb not included.
Where It Works Best
At 510mm across, the Hockley has enough scale to work as a single statement piece over a kitchen island or in an entrance hall with height to spare. It also works well grouped in twos or threes above a dining table, where several wide shades together create a bolder, more dramatic look. Its aged brass finish suits a kitchen, dining room, living room or hallway already working with warm metal tones.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil started in 1996, when former metalwork teacher Mark Underhill bought a small ironmongery supplier and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade pieces and has since grown into a family run manufacturer based in Llandrindod Wells, Powys, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Hockley pendant is made at that same Welsh workshop, its scale and finish still shaped entirely by hand.

Is the Hockley pendant dimmable?
Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't allow the light to be dimmed even with a compatible dimmer switch.
Does it come with a bulb?
No, bulbs are sold separately. The fitting takes one LED bulb with an E27 base, rated at 6W maximum.
How long is the cable, and can the drop height be changed?
It's supplied with 1.5m of black fabric cable, which a qualified electrician can trim and rewire to set the exact height needed.
Why is this pendant non returnable?
Each one is made to order at From The Anvil's Welsh workshop rather than held as ready made stock, so orders can't be returned once placed.
