The Brindley wall light gives you a single directional beam of warm light, with a solid brass arm you can swing and tilt to exactly where you want it. Instead of one fixed position, it moves with you, over a book, along a hallway, or across a dressing table.

The aged brass finish

This fitting is solid brass, hand spun into shape and then hand polished to bring out an aged, antique tone in the metal rather than a bright, uniform shine. Expect gentle variation across the surface, a warm, slightly weathered look that will only deepen with age, in keeping with a fitting made by hand rather than machine.

How It Works

• One 6W max LED E14 bulb, not supplied, so you can choose your own brightness and colour temperature.
• Dimmable, as long as you fit dimmable bulbs and use it with a compatible dimmer switch.
• Two hinged brass joints, one where the arm meets the wall plate and one where it meets the shade, let you swing the light left or right and tilt it up or down.
• The shade measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm high, with a projection of 224mm from the wall.
• The circular wall plate is 105mm in diameter and 20mm deep.

Where It Works Best

Its directional light makes it useful anywhere you need to aim brightness rather than flood a whole room, either side of a bed for reading, along a hallway or staircase, or beside a dressing table. It suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and kitchens equally well, and pairs naturally with the matching Brindley pendant if you want a coordinated scheme.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. It still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop.

The Brindley wall light carries that same hand finishing through to today, shaped and polished by hand in the workshop where the brand began.
