The story behind Feiss

Feiss's roots go back to 1955, when Murray Feiss opened a small lighting business in the South Bronx built around imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases, each one finished with a shade his mother Rose sewed by hand. Three generations of the family carried that business forward into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range eventually taking in chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and the design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss in the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting its collections for 220 to 240V electrics. Stateroom is one of the more understated ranges within that history, its appeal built on honest materials rather than an elaborate design story.
