A twin light Parisian style lantern for a wider entrance

The Shepherd 2 light medium wall lantern shares the same traditional Parisian lantern design as the rest of the range, with a decorative shepherd's crook, a latched and hinged front door panel, and inner Case White glass paired with Clear Seeded outer glass for that vintage gas lamp look. Having two lights rather than one gives it a slightly fuller glow and a different silhouette to the single light sizes.

Dark Weathered Zinc finish and composite build

Finished in Dark Weathered Zinc, it has the same aged, muted look as the rest of the collection, sitting comfortably against brick, stone or render. It's made from a weather resistant composite material, selected for its durability in exposed outdoor spots.

How it works

The hinged front panel opens on its latch to reach the two bulbs, neither of which is included, so you'll need to add both to your order. As with all outdoor fittings, we'd recommend a registered NICEIC electrician handles the installation and makes sure the wall mounting and cable entry are properly weathersealed.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, it's built for covered outdoor spots such as porches, canopied entrances and outbuildings, rather than fully exposed positions in direct, driving rain. The two light design and medium scale make it a good option for a wider entrance or a doorway that needs a bit more light than a single lantern gives.

The story behind Feiss

Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss in the UK and Europe, adapting the American designs, this Shepherd lantern included, to 220 to 240V wiring. Feiss itself dates to 1955, when Murray Feiss set up a small lighting business in the South Bronx built around imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases, the shades hand sewn by his mother, Rose. Three generations of family ownership later, it had grown into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and today its heritage sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Shepherd takes its cues from traditional Parisian gas lanterns, reimagined as a weather resistant outdoor fitting.
