A semi flush option for a touch more drop than a flush fitting

The Lucia single semi flush fitting sits a little further from the ceiling than the fully flush version, giving the sunflower shaped Bauhinia crystal a bit more room to catch the light while still staying close and compact. It's a middle ground between a flush fitting and a hanging pendant.

Burnished Silver finish

The Burnished Silver frame keeps its soft, understated sheen here, so the crystal remains the focal point rather than the metalwork. It's an easy finish to carry through a hallway or landing scheme where several Lucia fittings might be used together.

How it works

The single lamp position is dressed with a linen shade and glass bottom diffuser and needs its own bulb, which isn't included. We'd recommend a qualified electrician for the wiring in, as we would with any ceiling fitting.

Where it works best

This suits rooms with slightly more ceiling height than a flush fitting requires but not quite enough for a full pendant, such as landings, corridors or smaller bedrooms. It's an indoor fitting throughout.

The story behind Feiss

Over three generations, what began as a small family lighting business in New York's South Bronx grew into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range eventually taking in chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings. That business was Feiss, started in 1955 by Murray Feiss, who wired imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases finished with shades hand sewn by his mother, Rose. The design heritage now continues within Visual Comfort & Co., with Elstead Lighting bringing the designs, including this Lucia semi-flush, to the UK and Europe since 2012 on 220 to 240V wiring. Lucia is built around sunflower shaped Bauhinia crystal set into a Burnished Silver frame, a transitional design that runs from flush fittings through to full chandeliers.
