A three light coach lantern for a porch or front door
The English Bridle medium wall lantern steps the collection's country house look up to three lights, giving a stronger pool of light either side of a front door or across a porch. Its paned frame and clear seeded glass carry the same stately manor character as the rest of the range, just at a size built to make more of a statement than the single lantern.
Black finish
The Black finish gives this medium lantern a crisp, matte look with real definition against lighter render or stonework. It has the graphic quality of traditional wrought iron, without needing a period house to carry it off.
How it works
This lantern takes three bulbs, none of which are included, so you will need to add them to your order. It fixes to the wall via its backplate, and we would always recommend a registered NICEIC electrician for the installation, particularly given its outdoor use and multiple lamp holders.
Where it works best
With an IP44 rating, confirmed for this style of fitting across the English Bridle range, it is suited to covered outdoor spots such as a porch or canopied entrance rather than a completely exposed wall. It works well either side of a front door or across a porch, giving a stronger pool of light than the single lantern in the range.
The story behind Feiss
Feiss's design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co, the end point of a story that began in 1955, when Murray Feiss started a small lighting business in the South Bronx around imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases and shades hand sewn by his mother, Rose. Across three generations, that business became one of America's best known names in decorative lighting, from chandeliers and pendants to wall lights and outdoor fittings. Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss in the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting its collections, English Bridle included, to 220 to 240V electrical systems. English Bridle itself takes its cue from the English countryside and the coach lanterns of a traditional stately manor, available in British Bronze or Black to suit softer or more graphic garden schemes.
