A bell shaped fitting with just enough drop to catch the eye
The Drawing Room bell-shaped 2 light semi-flush fitting sits just below the ceiling on a short stem, giving the two bell shaped pressed glass shades a little more presence than a fully flush equivalent while still suiting rooms without much ceiling height to spare. The die-cast aluminium fitters and fretwork ironwork match the rest of the Drawing Room range, drawing on traditional British architectural themes.
Walnut finish
In Walnut, the metalwork has a warm, dark brown tone that plays well against the flared bell shape of the glass, giving the fitting a slightly more sculptural feel than the fully flush version in the same finish.
How it works
The fitting takes two bulbs, neither included, so plan to add a pair to your order. The short drop of the semi-flush fixing gives a small amount of flexibility over the fully flush version, though a qualified electrician should still confirm it suits your ceiling before fitting.
Where it works best
This suits bedrooms, hallways and landings where you want a touch more visual interest than a flush fitting but still need to work within a modest ceiling height. It is for indoor use only.
The story behind Feiss
One workshop in the South Bronx, opened in 1955 by Murray Feiss and built around imported European porcelain figurines with shades hand sewn by his mother Rose, is where the Feiss story begins. Three generations of family ownership turned it into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range eventually spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, before the design heritage passed to Visual Comfort & Co. Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss across the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting collections such as Drawing Room for 220 to 240V electrics. Drawing Room draws on an Edwardian ironwork tradition, its pressed glass bowls, die-cast fitters and fretwork detailing rooted in British architectural themes of the period.
