The Cotswold Lane 2 light medium pedestal is a freestanding fitting rather than a wall or ceiling mounted one, designed to sit on a plinth beside a path, driveway or garden entrance. It carries the same antique gas lantern styling as the rest of the collection, with architectural moulding above clear bevelled glass panes.

Finished in black, the pedestal has the same formal, traditional look as the wall mounted lanterns in the range, and the clear bevelled glass adds sparkle to the light rather than a flat glow. Being freestanding, it reads as more of a garden feature than a purely functional entrance light.

How it works

This pedestal doesn't come with bulbs, so you'll need to add two to your order. As it's an outdoor fitting typically wired below ground, we'd recommend a registered NICEIC electrician handles the installation, including running a suitably protected cable to the base.

With an IP44 rated, weatherproof build, it's designed for outdoor use along paths, driveways and garden entrances. It works well marking the start of a driveway, either side of a gate, or spaced along a garden path.

The story behind Feiss

Rose Feiss hand sewed the shades that first defined the family business, back when her son Murray was building lamps from imported European porcelain figurines in the South Bronx in 1955. What began as that small operation grew, over three generations, into one of America's leading names in decorative lighting, covering everything from chandeliers to outdoor fittings, and now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. In the UK and Europe, Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss since 2012, adapting the range to 220 to 240V wiring, and it's Elstead's work that brings this Cotswold Lane pedestal to market, its moulded frame and bevelled glass echoing the antique gas lanterns that give the collection its formal, traditional edge over Feiss's simpler outdoor ranges.
