The story behind Feiss

European castles and stately homes gave Chateau its ornate steel detailing, a grandeur borrowed for the home rather than invented for it. The brand behind that borrowing started far more humbly, in a South Bronx workshop in 1955, where Murray Feiss wired imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases and his mother Rose hand sewed each shade. Over three generations, that operation grew into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and the Feiss design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Elstead Lighting has represented the brand in the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting its designs for 220 to 240V electrical systems.
