A cable free beacon that lights up as you approach
The Faro Saura is a solar powered beacon light that brings a considered, architectural note to outdoor spaces. Its open square frame rises from a slim base to a flat top that houses the solar panel, giving the piece a lantern like silhouette that stays quietly modern by day and comes into its own after dark. Because it runs entirely on stored solar energy, there is no cabling and no trench work, so you can place light exactly where a path, border or entrance needs it.
The dark grey finish
This version wears a dark grey finish across its aluminium frame, a soft charcoal tone that recedes against foliage, stone and contemporary render alike. The matt grey is more forgiving than a stark black and reads well in daylight, so the fitting looks intentional rather than utilitarian when it is not lit. It suits garden schemes that favour clean geometry, from minimalist courtyards to planted borders along a route to the door.
How it works
Power comes from an integrated solar panel set into the top of the lamp, feeding a built in lithium ion battery. The light source is an integrated LED rated at 2W producing a warm white 3000K glow, so there is no bulb to buy or replace. A PIR motion sensor sits below the panel: during the day the lamp rests in charging mode, at night it holds a gentle low level light, and when it detects movement nearby it lifts to full brightness before easing back once you have passed. To switch it on or off you hold the button for around three seconds until the blue indicator responds. The lamp can be set up in two ways, standing as a freestanding beacon or driven into soft ground on its supplied stake, and both fixings come in the box. As a solar fitting it needs no mains wiring or electrician.
Where it works best
Saura is at home marking the edges of paths, steps and driveways, flanking a front door or porch, or picking out a planted border where running a cable would be impractical. The motion activated behaviour makes it a natural choice for passage areas and entrances, offering a welcoming pool of light as someone approaches while sipping only modest power the rest of the night. The stake option makes it easy to reposition seasonally, which suits gardeners who like to rework a scheme.

Questions People Ask
How does the Saura's PIR motion sensor behave at night?
At night the Saura holds a gentle, low level light on standby, then lifts to full brightness for a short time when its PIR sensor detects movement nearby, before easing back to the low level glow.
What does the IP54 rating mean for placing the Saura outside?
IP54 means the Saura is protected against dust and against water splashing from any direction, so it is suited to general outdoor use in a border, path or driveway, though not to direct jets of water or being submerged.
Does the Saura need a nearby power socket or mains wiring?
No. The Saura runs entirely on its integrated solar panel and rechargeable battery, so it needs no mains cabling, trenching or electrician to install.
What comes in the box with the Saura beacon light?
The Saura is supplied with both a freestanding base and a ground stake, so you can either stand it on a hard surface or push it into soft soil or a planted border.
