Designed by Faro Lab, it pairs a simple, almost architectural silhouette with genuine weather resistance, making it a versatile choice for exterior walls where you want illumination without fuss or glare.

The dark grey finish

This version wears a deep anthracite dark grey across its die cast aluminium body, a tone that reads as smart and understated against brick, render, timber and stone alike. The matt grey recedes softly in daylight and all but disappears after dark, so the eye settles on the light itself rather than the fitting. If you prefer a lighter look, the Pals is also made in white. At roughly 26cm high and 25cm wide, it has enough presence to frame a doorway yet stays neat enough to line along a wall in pairs or a run.

How it works

Light comes from a single E27 lamp seated behind a large opal glass diffuser set into the mouth of the cone. The opal glass spreads the light evenly and takes the harshness out of the source, so you get a comfortable downward wash rather than a bright spot. The lamp holder accepts an E27 bulb up to a maximum of 15W, and the bulb is not included, which lets you choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the setting. It is not dimmable. The fitting is hardwired to the mains and mounts to the wall via its integrated bracket. Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.

With its IP65 rating, the Pals is built for full exposure to the elements, so it is equally at home on an open façade, a garden wall, a porch, a driveway pillar or beside an entrance door. The downward throw makes it well suited to lighting paths, steps and thresholds, and its discreet form lets it sit comfortably on both modern and more traditional exteriors.
