Is this suitable for a moody atmosphere?
Very much so. The smoke glass naturally creates a softer, more atmospheric light than clear versions. If you're after intimate rather than bright illumination, this is the right choice.

Can I see the bulbs through the glass?
You can see a glow from them, but the smoke tint obscures the actual bulbs, which gives the effect of light coming from the shades themselves rather than visible sources.

Will it feel too dark?
