Eight Points of Light in a Strung Together Frame
The Sutton pendant stretches across 80cm carrying eight rectangular panels of crystal sand glass, each with a frosted, crystallised surface that catches light in soft, pleasing ways without being glitzy. The matt black frame and end caps hold everything in place, creating a rhythm along the length that feels more like a musical instrument than a standard light fitting. Before the bulbs even come on, the glass and frame make an architectural statement on the ceiling.
Choosing Your Finish
Matt black is a bold choice that grounds a room and works especially well in contemporary or industrial schemes. The Sutton range extends to wall lamps, floor lamps, and table lamps in the same material and finish, so you can echo this aesthetic elsewhere in the same space without any visual discord.
How It Works
Eight E27 lamp holders sit behind the glass panels, taking bulbs up to 20W each, which are not included. The fitting is Class I wired, meaning it needs an earth connection as part of installation. You can use dimmable bulbs with a compatible dimmer to soften the light if you want that option, though you'll need to source both the dimmer and the bulbs separately. The IP20 rating means it's only suitable for dry indoor use.
Where It Works Best
The long, low profile makes this pendant ideal above a kitchen island, a generous dining table, or a run of worktop where you want light spread evenly along a line rather than concentrated in one spot. The spread of eight points means there are no dark patches underneath, and the frosted glass panels diffuse the light evenly across the whole ceiling area below.
Design Details
The crystal sand glass adds texture and depth that plain glass or a simple fabric shade cannot match. The frosted surface is achieved through a crystallising process rather than etching, which gives it a more sophisticated look and feel. The wrought iron frame carries the weight without flexing, and the matte black finish resists fingerprints and dust better than shinier surfaces do.

Questions People Ask
How many bulbs do I need?
Eight. Each lamp holder takes up to a 20W E27 bulb, and they're sold separately, so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suits your kitchen or dining space.
Can I use this over a kitchen island?
Yes, it's an ideal choice for that space. The eight light points mean even illumination across the work surface with no dark patches.
Is the glass hard to keep clean?
The frosted surface is more forgiving than clear glass, as dust and fingerprints are less obvious on the crystallised texture.
