How It Works

Two E27 lamp holders sit within the frame, with the glass panels mounted on the outside rather than inside, which distributes light outward across the wall as well as downward. Both bulbs can be dimmed together if you pair them with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer. It's wired to Class I electrical standards, requiring an earth connection. The IP20 rating means it's for dry indoor areas only.

Where It Works Best

Mount this fitting either side of a bathroom mirror or above a bedroom headboard for reading light on both sides. It works well flanking a hallway console table, or on either side of a living room fireplace where you want substantial light without bulk. The asymmetrical silhouette means even a single fitting makes an architectural statement.

Design Details

The design trick here is the exterior glass placement. Rather than a conventional lantern where glass wraps the bulbs from within, this puts glass on the outside of the frame, changing how light travels and giving the fitting a visual presence even when it's off. Iron and glass do all the work—there's no pattern or texture needed.

Can I dim it?
Yes, but you need to use dimmable bulbs and a dimmer switch. Both bulbs will dim together at the same rate.

Will it work as a single fitting or do I need to buy them in pairs?
You can buy and use just one. Many people do, especially in hallways or as a feature wall light. Others prefer the symmetry of a pair flanking a mirror or fireplace.

Is this suitable for a bathroom?
It's IP20 rated, which is for dry indoor areas only. It wouldn't be suitable for direct wall mounting in a shower zone, but could work in a bathroom above a vanity area away from direct water splash.
