Can I use a high wattage bulb in this lamp?
The 20W maximum exists because table lamps sit near where you are working or resting. A 20W LED gives brightness equivalent to a much higher wattage incandescent without the heat, so you will have plenty of light without discomfort.

Where exactly is the on and off switch?
It is built into the flex near the shade, so you control the lamp from there rather than underneath the base. Much more convenient for bedside use or when the lamp is tucked beside a desk.

Is this warm enough light for reading?
If you pair it with a warm white LED bulb (2700K colour temperature), yes. The opal glass softens it further, creating ambient glow. For more focused reading light, a cool white bulb will be brighter and crisper while still remaining within the 20W limit.
