Dragonflies Dancing Through Blue and Orange
Hornbeam sets a Tiffany shade in full flight: a dragonfly pattern worked across 40cm of blue and orange leaded glass, all supported on a two-light floor lamp base that gives a good spread of illumination while the shade itself reads as a feature in daylight too. The leading catches the eye whether the lamp is switched on or off.
Choosing Your Finish
Blue and orange is a bold color pairing that could feel heavy in the wrong context, but the dragonfly design keeps it from becoming overwhelming. The pattern has movement and interest, which suits spaces where the lamp is meant to be noticed rather than tucked away. Each shade carries natural variations in the glass and leadwork because they're handmade, which adds to rather than detracts from their appeal.
How It Works
Two E27 bulbs at 60W maximum each power this lamp, and it's dimmable when you use dimmable bulbs with a compatible dimmer. It's Class II wired, so no earth connection is needed, just a standard two-pin plug. The IP20 rating means it's designed for dry indoor spaces. Control is via a foot switch, which is convenient for a floor lamp in a reading corner.
Where It Works Best
A living room corner or reading nook is the natural spot, somewhere the shade can be seen and appreciated rather than hidden away. The bold pattern suits spaces with enough existing color in the decor to handle the blue and orange without feeling chaotic. Works well beside an armchair or sofa where you want steady light for reading or just a warm presence in the evening.
Design Details
The dragonfly pattern is worked in leaded glass using the traditional Tiffany method, with individual pieces of blue and orange glass cut and leaded together. The base provides support at a comfortable standing height, and two light sources mean the illumination spreads across a room rather than pooling in one spot. Tiffany glass, resin, iron and K9 materials combine to create something that's both functional and sculptural.

Questions People Ask
Will the blue and orange be too bright for my living room?
The pattern is bold but the Tiffany glass diffuses the light so it doesn't feel harsh. Much depends on your existing room colors and how much pattern you already have in the space. In muted surroundings, this shade would be a strong accent; in a busier room, it blends in more easily.
Can I use lower wattage bulbs to tone it down?
Absolutely. Even if the fitting is rated for 60W bulbs, you can use 40W or lower LEDs to get a softer light level. That said, the brightness of the pattern is partly about the leadwork itself, not just the bulb wattage.
Are the bulbs included?
No, this lamp takes two E27 bulbs which are sold separately. Warm white LEDs work beautifully with Tiffany glass.
