How It Works

It takes a single E27 decorative candle bulb, up to 20W, which isn't included and will need to be bought separately, along with a shade to complete the lamp. A foot switch makes it easy to turn on and off without reaching for a socket, and dimming is possible if you use dimmable bulbs with a compatible dimmer. It's wired to Class II standard, so no earth connection is needed, and its IP20 rating means it should stay in dry rooms rather than bathrooms.

As a statement floor lamp base, Hickman works well beside a sofa, an armchair or a bed, standing at just over a metre tall once a shade is fitted. It suits a living room, dining room or hallway particularly well. Being IP20 rated, it isn't intended for bathroom use.
