Is this heavy enough to stay stable on a bedside table?
Yes, at 2.5kg it has enough weight in the base to stay stable. The beige shade is lighter than darker tones because of the pale glass colour, but the base is weighted to compensate.

Can I use a modern LED bulb in this?
