The Halo Tall wall light takes its name from the round, stepped backplate, a solid casting with concentric rings that catch the light like a halo. From it a slim brass rod rises to carry a 16cm pleated shade printed with an apricot orange zigzag on white. The result is a tall, narrow antique brass wall light with a strong shot of colour at the top, a pairing that feels classic in the metalwork and cheerful in the fabric.

Cast Steel In A Brass Patina With A Pleated Zigzag Shade

The wall back is hand crafted from solid cast steel and given a brass patina finish, so the rings have a warm, aged, slightly speckled surface rather than a polished gleam. The slender steel stem and the T shaped arm that holds it match the backplate, and the stem ends in an authentic brass B22 lamp holder that sits neatly inside the shade.

The shade is handmade, gathered into fine pleats and tapered from a narrow top to a wider base. It is cut from digitally printed faux silk in an apricot orange zigzag design, with a taped edge at the top and bottom and a plain inner lining. Lit, the orange turns to a warm amber glow through the pleats. Unlit, the crisp zigzag print holds its own against the wall.

How It Works

This is a hardwired, wall mounted fitting rated Class I. It takes a single B22 bayonet LED bulb of up to 7W, which is not supplied. The fitting is dimmable, so with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch you can take it from a soft evening glow to a brighter reading light. The shade is supplied in its own box, separate from the wall fitting, and simply sits over the lamp holder once the bracket is on the wall.

The Halo Tall stands 36.5cm high, 16cm wide and projects 20.5cm from the wall, so it has more presence than a short wall bracket without taking up much width. It works beautifully either side of a bed as a bedside wall light, flanking a mirror on a landing, or in a pair on a panelled living room wall. The apricot orange shade warms up grey, cream and off white walls and sits happily alongside terracotta, rust and natural linen tones.
