The Eltham & Leaf 40cm pendant is a simple idea done well. Brushed Aged Brass Flex Set With A Herb Garden Green Shade

The metalwork is plated steel in a brushed aged brass finish, a warm, slightly softened gold that looks lived in rather than shiny. The ceiling rose is a neat stepped disc, and the lamp holder at the other end is a proper brass B22 fitting with a knurled shade ring. Between them runs 1.5m of green braided fabric cable that picks up the colour of the shade.

The shade itself is handmade, with gathered pleats and a gently tapered shape. The fabric is a faux linen, digitally printed with a herb garden green leaf design on an off white ground, and finished with taped edges and a plain inner lining. With the light off the pattern reads as a soft sage. With it on, the pleats glow and the leaves stand out.

How It Works

This is a hardwired ceiling pendant and it is rated Class I. It takes one B22 bayonet LED bulb, which is not supplied, and it is dimmable when used with a dimmable LED bulb and a suitable dimmer switch. The 1.5m cable lets the drop be set anywhere from 40cm to 160cm when it is fitted, so it works on a standard ceiling or over a table. The 40cm shade sits on the lamp holder shade ring and the whole fitting weighs just 0.9kg.
