The Dahlia Swan wall light takes its name from the round, ribbed backplate, which fans out like the petals of a dahlia, and the swan neck arm that curves up from it. On top sits a 16cm gathered shade in a neutral ikat print, a soft blend of blush, taupe and off white. It is a compact antique brass wall light with a gentle, lived in character that suits both period and modern rooms.

The dahlia backplate is hand crafted from solid cast steel and given a brass patina, so the ribs catch the light with a warm, slightly aged tone rather than a polished gleam. The slim steel arm sweeps up and forward to an authentic brass B22 lamp holder, with a small switch on the holder itself.

The tapered shade is handmade with gathered pleats in a digitally printed faux silk fabric. The ikat pattern is a loose, feathered stripe in muted pinks and creams, with taped edges and a plain inner lining that keeps the glow soft and even when the light is on.

How It Works

This is a hardwired, wall mounted fitting and is rated Class I. It uses one B22 bayonet LED bulb of up to 7W, which is not supplied. It is dimmable when paired with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The shade arrives in its own box and simply sits over the lamp holder once the bracket is fixed to the wall.

Where It Works Best

The fitting measures 26.5cm high, 16cm wide and projects 19cm from the wall, so it is an accent light rather than a main source. It makes a pretty bedside wall light, especially as a pair, and sits well either side of a mirror or on a landing. The pink and cream ikat shade is at its best against white, cream and pale grey walls, and against painted panelling.
