The Dahlia Curve wall light takes its name from the round, deeply fluted backplate, which fans out like the petals of a dahlia head. A slim antique brass arm sweeps forward from the centre and carries a 16cm pleated shade in a Cotswold green and white zigzag print. The result is a decorative brass wall light with real character, traditional in its bones but far from stuffy once that patterned shade is on.

Hand Crafted Cast Brass And A Pleated Faux Silk Shade

The dahlia backplate is hand crafted from solid cast steel and given a brass patina finish, so the ridges catch the light while the hollows stay darker and softer. It looks like a piece that has aged well rather than one straight out of a factory. The curved steel arm finishes in an authentic brass B22 lamp holder.

The shade is handmade, with gathered pleats on a tapered frame and a digitally printed faux silk fabric in the Cotswold green zigzag. The top and bottom edges are taped in plain green and the inside is lined, which keeps the print sharp by day and gives a gentle wash of green and cream when the bulb is on.

How It Works

This is a hardwired, wall mounted fitting. It is rated Class I. It takes one B22 bayonet LED bulb of up to 7W, not included, and it is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable LED bulb and used with a compatible dimmer switch. The shade comes in its own box and simply sits over the lamp holder once the fitting is on the wall, so there is a little self assembly but nothing fiddly.

The fitting is 19cm high and 16cm wide, and it projects 25.5cm from the wall, so the shade sits well clear of the surface and throws a soft pool of light downwards. It makes a lovely bedside wall light in place of a table lamp, and a pair works beautifully either side of a bed, a mirror or a fireplace. In a hallway or on a landing it adds colour without taking up any floor space. The green zigzag shade suits cream, soft white and pale pink walls, and sits happily with painted panelling and natural timber.
