A fitting that can sit close or hang low
The Windsor 3 Light Semi Flush Fitting pairs an opal glass bowl with a wrought frame carrying a fleur de lis style medallion down its centre. The chain length is set when it's installed, so the same fitting can sit close to the ceiling as a semi flush or drop lower to work as a pendant, whichever suits the room it's going into.
Graphite
The frame, chain and medallion are all finished in graphite, a dark charcoal grey that gives the metalwork a solid, slightly weathered look against the soft white of the opal glass bowl. It has more visual weight than a plain flush fitting, without moving into full chandelier territory.
How It Works
Three E27 LED lamp holders sit inside the opal glass bowl, so the light is diffused through the glass rather than shining out as three separate points. Because the chain length is adjustable at installation, the same fitting can be set to sit close to the ceiling or to hang lower as a pendant, and it will dim if fitted with dimmable LED bulbs.
Where It Works Best
It suits a kitchen or dining room where a plain flush fitting would look underwhelming. Set close to the ceiling it works well in a room with lower ceilings, and with more drop on the chain it can hang lower over a dining table in a room with the height to spare.
Elstead Lighting
Elstead Lighting is a British decorative lighting group and distributor whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and the business is still led by the same Lucas family today. Can this be hung as a pendant instead of a semi flush fitting? Yes. The chain length is set at installation, so it can sit close to the ceiling at around 49.6cm high, or be lowered on its chain to hang as a pendant up to about 203.6cm overall.
Does it come with bulbs? No. It takes three E27 LED lamps, which are not included, so you can choose the light output and colour temperature that suits the room.
Is the Windsor 3 Light Semi Flush Fitting dimmable? Yes, as long as it's fitted with dimmable E27 LED bulbs. Standard non dimmable bulbs will only run at full brightness.
What does the opal glass bowl do? It diffuses the light from the three bulbs inside it, so the room gets a soft, even glow rather than three separate points of light shining directly down.
