The Warwick chandelier gathers five candle style arms around a wrought iron ring barely bigger than a dinner plate, each arm carrying its own drip pan below the bulb. Hung on its full run of chain, it has the presence of something salvaged from an old hall rather than a fitting bought new.

A weathered graphite black finish

Warwick's finish is a mottled graphite black rather than a single flat colour, so the ring, arms and chain all pick up faint variations in tone as the light catches them. A small diamond shaped stud is set into the ring at each arm, and the same dark iron colour continues right down the chain to the ceiling plate, so nothing about the fitting looks like an afterthought.

How It Works

Five E14 candle bulbs sit spaced evenly around the ring on individual arms, each with its own drip pan, so light spreads out from the centre of a room rather than beaming in one direction. Elstead recommends fitting LED candle bulbs. The chain hangs from a central ceiling rose and can be shortened or lengthened to suit the room, and some simple assembly is needed on arrival to get the chandelier installation ready.

Where It Works Best

Five lights is enough to properly light a kitchen table or a dining room without overwhelming a modest sized room, and the adjustable chain drop makes it just as workable under a low ceiling as over a stairwell or double height hallway. It reads equally at home above a farmhouse table or in a more traditional dining room.

Elstead Lighting

Warwick comes from Elstead Lighting, a British lighting group whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the Lucas family today. The design draws on a traditional wagon wheel silhouette, reworked here in a contemporary graphite black finish.
