The Tiber pendant centres on a single mouth blown glass shade, its surface pulled into a soft spiral of ribs and cast in a warm amber tone. Even unlit it holds interest on a shelf or windowsill, and once switched on the twisted glass scatters the bulb's glow into soft, moving lines rather than one flat pool of light.

Brushed brass and amber glass

Every metal part on Tiber, the ceiling rose, the gallery that grips the shade and the braided flex running between them, is finished in brushed brass. It's a soft, low sheen metal rather than a mirror finish, so it sits quietly behind the amber glass instead of competing with it. Together the two read as a warm, slightly vintage pairing that works equally well against a pale wall or a darker, moodier one.

How It Works

Tiber takes a single E27 lamp, held on a brass lamp holder inside the shade so the bulb itself stays mostly hidden from view. Fit a dimmable LED and the fitting will dim on a compatible circuit, taking it from a brighter task light over a worktop down to a low, atmospheric glow for evenings. The flex allows the drop to be set anywhere between 33.7cm and 219.2cm, so it can be hung close to the ceiling or lowered well down over a table.

Where It Works Best

Tiber suits kitchens and dining rooms in particular. Hung on its own, it works as a single accent over a small table, breakfast bar or reading corner. Grouped in twos or threes at staggered heights, thanks to that adjustable drop, it makes a considered run of light over an island or a longer dining table.

Elstead Lighting

Can I hang the Tiber pendant lower over a table? Yes. The flex is adjustable from a drop of 33.7cm right up to 219.2cm, so it can be set to sit just above head height over a dining table or island.
