A warm glow for the ceiling
The Tamar sits flush to the ceiling, a cylindrical opal glass diffuser held inside a polished gold frame. Where the chrome version of this fitting gives a cool, mirror bright finish, the gold plating here brings a warmer cast to the same simple drum shape, so the light itself glows evenly through the glass rather than shining from one point.

Two knurled thumb screws sit either side of the frame, and a small brass finial marks the centre of the glass from below, both classic touches that stop the fitting reading as purely functional. The gold plating suits traditional bathroom schemes as readily as newer interiors where brass and gold accents are on trend. The same drum shape is also made in polished chrome, for anyone matching taps or mirror frames finished in a cooler metal.
How It Works
A single 9W LED GX53 lamp fits inside the frame, fully hidden once installed so all you see from below is the glow through the opal glass. The lamp is not included, so you will need to fit your own GX53 before switching on. Choose a dimmable GX53 bulb and the fitting will work with a dimmer switch; a standard bulb will not dim, whatever switch it is wired to.

Tamar is designed as a bathroom ceiling light, which is where its flush profile earns its keep: it sits close to the ceiling with no drop, so there is nothing hanging down to catch a raised arm or a shower door. That same low profile is just as useful outside the bathroom, in a hallway, a walk in wardrobe, a cloakroom, or under a sloped loft ceiling where a pendant would sit too low.
