A sculpture that happens to hold a light

Take the shade away and what is left on the Taiko is the sculpture itself: a single candle bulb caught inside a tangle of crossed steel rods, fixed flat against the wall.

Finished in Olde Bronze

The steel rods are finished in a deep, warm Olde Bronze, closer to a burnished dark brown than a bright metallic shine. With no shade to soften it, that crossed metalwork is the whole design, not a detail glimpsed underneath a larger fitting.

How It Works

One E14 candle bulb sits exposed at the centre of the rod cluster, wired back to a circular backplate hidden behind the tangle. The light itself becomes part of the pattern, throwing crossed shadows up the wall around it. The bulb is not included, so you can choose the warmth and style that suits the room. Fit a dimmable bulb and it will work from a dimmer switch.

Where It Works Best

Taiko works well either side of a fireplace, flanking a mirror in a hallway, or spaced along a run of wall in a living or dining room, wherever you want a feature rather than background light. It is a compact way to bring the same sculptural language as the larger Taiko pendants into a room with no ceiling point to hang from.

Does the Taiko wall light come with a shade? No. The crossed steel rods are the design in full, and the bulb sits exposed at the centre rather than under a shade.

Is a bulb included? No. It takes one E14 candle bulb, which is not supplied, so you can pick the warmth and finish that suits your room.

Is the Taiko wall light dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E14 bulb. A non dimmable bulb will not respond to a dimmer switch.

Is there a matching pendant or ceiling version? Yes. Taiko's crossed rod design also comes as a pendant, so you can carry the same look into a room with a ceiling point to hang from.
