Elstead Taiko 5 Light Island Pendant - Olde Bronze

Stretched into an oval and hung from two rods instead of one, the Taiko island pendant is built for spaces that run long rather than round, think kitchen islands and refectory style dining tables.

The same crossed bronze rod cluster sits beneath an oatmeal linen shade, finished in Olde Bronze from the twin ceiling plates down to the last crossed rod.

How it works

Five E27 bulbs are fitted within the metal cluster, so light escapes downward through the gaps between the rods and glows sideways through the linen shade, giving even coverage along the full length of the fitting.

Where it works best

This one is built with kitchens and dining rooms in mind, hung along the run of an island or centred over a long table where the twin rods can be spaced to suit the ceiling joists or a beam.

Elstead Lighting is known for country house and traditional fittings, but the Taiko range, including this island version, shows the company taking on a more sculptural, modern brief.
