A lantern with room to sway

The St Louis wall lantern hangs from a curved bracket on a short run of chain rather than sitting rigid on a fixed arm, giving it a small amount of natural movement in the wind that a fixed lantern doesn't have. The rounded body, ribbed glass panel and pointed finial below draw on the classic coach lantern shape often seen on period porches and gateways.

Weathered bronze finish

Weathered bronze gives the metal frame a dark, mottled surface with hints of copper breaking through in patches, so it reads as an aged fitting rather than a bright new one straight out of the box. The tone sits well against brick, stone or painted render alike.

How It Works

One E27 lamp holder sits behind a panel of hand blown glass, whose faint bubbles and texture soften the bulb's glow rather than showing it through a perfectly flat pane. Fit a dimmable LED bulb (bulb not included) and it works with a dimmer switch. This is a wall mounted fitting wired into the mains, so we always recommend a qualified electrician installs it.

The hanging chain and coach lantern shape suit a porch, a front door with some height above it, or a run of garden wall where the detail can be seen up close. It's rated IP44, so it's built to cope with rain and damp outdoor conditions rather than needing a sheltered spot.
