A pair of curls either side of a diamond
Where the rest of the Rectory range keeps to straight lines and a pointed shield, the Swirl version curls its two arms into tight circular scrolls that meet at a diamond shaped backplate carved with a simple leaf pattern. It is the most ornate piece in the range, closer to old French ironwork than the plainer Rectory pieces.
Textured black
Like the rest of the range it is finished in a deep matte black with a rough, hand worked texture, so the scrolls and leaf detailing on the backplate catch shadow rather than shine. The candle style lamp holders are left in a pale contrast tone that stands out against the ironwork.
How it works
Each arm loops into a full circular curl before straightening out to the candle style lamp holder, giving the whole fitting a rounder, softer silhouette than a plain scroll arm. At 33cm wide it sits low and wide rather than tall.
Where it works best
It suits a period hallway, either side of a fireplace, or on a stretch of wall where you want something more decorative than a plain candle sconce. The wider spread and lower profile make it a good fit above a console table or sideboard.
