A pair of curls either side of a diamond
Where the rest of the Rectory range keeps to straight lines and a pointed shield, the Swirl version curls its two arms into tight circular scrolls that meet at a diamond shaped backplate carved with a simple leaf pattern. It's the most ornate piece in the range, closer to old French ironwork than the plainer Rectory pieces.
Textured black
Like the rest of the range it's finished in a deep matte black with a rough, hand worked texture, so the scrolls and leaf detailing on the backplate catch shadow rather than shine. The candle style lamp holders are left in a pale contrast tone that stands out against the ironwork.
How It Works
Each arm loops into a full circular curl before straightening out to a candle style lamp holder, giving the whole fitting a rounder, softer silhouette than a plain scroll arm. The two E14 holders take candle shaped LED bulbs, which aren't included, and because it's wired directly into the wall rather than plugged in, we'd always recommend a qualified electrician fits it. At 33cm wide it sits low and wide rather than tall.
Where It Works Best
It suits a period hallway, either side of a fireplace, or on a stretch of wall where you want something more decorative than a plain candle sconce. The wider spread and lower profile make it a good fit above a console table or sideboard, and its ironwork pairs naturally with painted panelling, exposed beams or a farmhouse kitchen setting.
Elstead's Heritage
Elstead Lighting is a British lighting group and distributor whose name traces back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and the business is still led by the Lucas family today. The Rectory range draws on traditional country house ironwork, and this Swirl variant pushes that further into properly decorative territory with its curled scrollwork and leaf carved backplate.

Are bulbs included with the Rectory Swirl 2 Light Wall Light? No. It takes two E14 candle style bulbs, which aren't included, so you can choose the LED bulb that suits the warmth and brightness you want in the room.
Can this wall light be dimmed? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs on a compatible dimmer circuit. Standard, non dimmable bulbs won't dim even if the circuit itself is dimmable.
How far does the fitting project from the wall? It projects 13.5cm from the wall, with an overall width of 33cm and a height of 11cm, so it sits low and wide once fitted rather than tall.
Does this wall light need to be installed by an electrician? Yes. It's wired directly into the wall rather than plugged in, so we always recommend a qualified electrician fits it.
