Elstead Provence Single Wall Light - Polished Nickel

The Provence single wall light pairs a curved gooseneck arm with an angled cone shade, and this polished nickel version is the most reflective of its three finishes. Light runs the full length of the arm down to the shade, picking out every joint and curve in a bright, almost jewellery grade shine.

The Polished Nickel Finish

Polished nickel stays cool and silvery rather than warming up the way brass does, and because it is so reflective it will pick up something of the colour of the room around it, so expect it to look slightly different depending on where it hangs. The underside of the shade is polished too, so once a bulb is fitted the glow bounces off a mirror bright surface rather than a matte one.

How It Works

A curved arm carries the fitting out and down from a circular wall plate, holding the cone shade clear of the wall so light is thrown forward into the room rather than straight down the surface behind it. It takes one E27 bulb, best suited to an LED lamp, and is a wired fitting rather than a plug in lamp, so it needs to be connected to a switched lighting circuit.

Where It Works Best

Its reach and angle make it a good match for a hallway or landing, or either side of a bed where a single directional light is more useful than an overhead one. It also works well in a kitchen or dining room as a task light near a table. In a room that already has chrome or glass fittings, the bright polished finish will read as considered rather than mismatched.

Is the Provence wall light dimmable? Yes, as long as a dimmable E27 bulb is fitted. A non dimmable bulb will not dim even on a dimmer circuit.

Do I need an electrician to install it? Yes. This is a wired fitting rather than a plug in lamp, so it needs to be connected to a switched lighting circuit by a qualified electrician.
