The Provence wall light borrows its shape from old warehouse and factory lighting, a curved gooseneck arm rising from a round wall plate and ending in a wide angled cone shade. It has the kind of quiet confidence that works whether it is the only light in a hallway or one of a pair either side of a bed.

Aged brass finish

This version is finished in aged brass, a warm, slightly antiqued gold tone rather than a bright polished one. The inside of the shade keeps the same brass tone, so when the light is on it throws a soft golden glow both up the wall and down onto whatever sits beneath it.

How it works

The arm sweeps up and out from the wall plate before curving back down into the shade, so the light spills out from a point well clear of the wall itself. Two small knurled screws on the collar below the lamp holder let the shade angle be set at installation. It takes a single E27 LED bulb, not included, and wires in like a standard wall light, so it needs a wired connection rather than a plug.

Where it works best

Good either side of a bed as a pair, spaced along a hallway, or flanking a fireplace or mirror. The forward reach of the arm makes it a useful choice anywhere a flush wall light would sit too close to the wall to be much use, and it suits a living room, kitchen or dining room just as easily.

Questions People Ask

How far does the Provence wall light project from the wall? The gooseneck arm carries the shade approximately 35.7cm out from the wall plate, which gives it enough reach to clear a headboard or sit forward of a mirror frame.

Can the angle of the shade be adjusted? Yes. Two small knurled screws on the collar below the lamp holder let you loosen the shade and set its angle before tightening them back up.

Does it come with a bulb? No. It takes a single E27 LED lamp holder and the bulb is not included, so choose a dimmable E27 LED bulb if you want to use it with a dimmer switch.

Is it hardwired or does it plug in? It is a hardwired wall light rather than a plug in fitting, so it needs to be wired in like a standard wall light, ideally by a qualified electrician.
