This small brass picture light does one job well, casting an even wash of light down the length of a frame from a slim cylindrical shade on a curved arm, so the picture reads clearly and the wall around it stays uncluttered.

A warm, Brushed Brass finish

The steel body is finished in Brushed Brass, a soft matte gold with a fine grain rather than a mirror polish, so it sits quietly against a wall instead of drawing attention to itself. The square backplate carries a pressed fan pattern radiating out from its centre, a small decorative touch that still reads well close up.

How It Works

A single E14 LED bulb sits inside the cylindrical shade, throwing light down and along the picture below rather than out into the room. The arm has a wire wrapped section and a knuckle joint tightened with a small wing nut, so the angle of the shade can be set once and left, or adjusted again if the artwork changes. The bulb itself isn't included, so you can choose the exact warmth and brightness you want.

It suits a single painting, print or mirror in a living room, dining room or hallway, anywhere a piece deserves proper light rather than leftover glow from a pendant or downlights. It also works well over a display of framed prints in a home office, where a narrow, even throw of light is more useful than a wide wash across the whole wall.

Does this picture light come with a bulb? No. It takes one E14 LED bulb, which isn't supplied, so you can pick the brightness and warmth that suits the artwork.

Can I angle the shade once it's fitted? Yes. The arm has a knuckle joint held with a small wing nut, so you can tilt the shade to aim the light exactly where you want it, and loosen it again later if you rehang the picture.

Is this picture light dimmable? Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable E14 bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't respond to a dimmer switch.

How far does the light sit out from the wall? The arm carries the shade about 20cm out from the backplate, enough clearance to light a picture without the fitting itself getting in the way.
