Elstead Parish Single Pillar Lantern - Black

The Parish Pillar Lantern is the tall, freestanding one in the range, a lantern on a proper post rather than a wall bracket, so it can stand on its own wherever you need it.

At just over a metre high it's a decent presence in a garden, with the same six panelled lantern head as the rest of the Parish family sitting atop a plain black die-cast aluminium post and hexagonal base.

How it works

A single E27 lamp sits inside the glazed head, and if you fit a dimmable bulb you can turn the light down as well as off. Being a freestanding post, it fixes down onto a hard surface or its own plinth rather than a wall.

Where it works best

Gateposts, the start of a drive, either side of a front path or dotted along a garden boundary. Because it stands at roughly eye or shoulder height, it lights the ground around it well without needing a wall nearby to fix to.

Elstead has built its name on traditional exterior fittings like this one, and the Parish range keeps that classic lantern silhouette across wall, flush and freestanding versions. The company has been based in Alton, Hampshire since 1971 and is still run by the Lucas family.
