A lantern on its own post

The Parish Single Pillar Lantern is the freestanding member of the Parish family, a traditional six sided lantern head mounted on its own post rather than fixed to a wall or gate pier. At just over a metre tall, it works as a stand alone marker rather than an accessory to an existing structure.

Black die cast aluminium finish

The lantern head, post and hexagonal base are all cast in aluminium and finished in a flat black that resists the weather without needing repainting. Six bevelled glass panels wrap the head, each edged in a moulded frame that echoes the look of an old fashioned street lantern, with a pointed finial capping the roof.

How It Works

A single E27 LED bulb sits inside the glazed head behind clear glass panels on all six sides, spreading light outward rather than throwing it in one direction. Fit a dimmable E27 bulb and the lantern will dim as well as switch off. The post fixes down onto a hard surface or a concrete plinth through its own hexagonal base, so it stands independently rather than needing a wall or pier to mount to.

Where It Works Best

Its height and all round glazing suit it to marking a point rather than lighting a whole space: either side of a gate or driveway entrance, at the start of a garden path, or spaced along a boundary. Because the light spreads from roughly head height, it lights the ground and the immediate approach well without relying on a nearby wall.

What bulb does the Parish pillar lantern take? It takes a single E27 LED bulb, which is not included, so you will need to fit one before use.

Is the Parish pillar lantern dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E27 bulb. A non dimmable bulb will not dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.
