Light down at border height

Not every corner of a garden needs a wall light or a lamp post. The Parish Pedestal Lantern stands at about knee height, built for the low, freestanding spots those taller fittings can't reach, the edge of a border, the corner of a patio, the start of a path.

Black die-cast aluminium

The lantern head is the same six sided, glazed shape as the rest of the Parish range, peaked cap and all, but here it sits on a short die-cast aluminium plinth finished in black. Up close the casting has a fine, slightly textured surface rather than a smooth painted one, with crisp bevelled edges along each glazed panel, and a hexagonal base you fix straight down onto a hard surface.

How It Works

Light comes from a single E27 LED bulb inside the glazed head, which isn't included so you'll need to fit one before use. Choose a dimmable bulb and it will respond to a dimmer switch. Because it stands at ground level rather than hanging from a wall, it lights the space immediately around it rather than a doorway or path ahead, and like any mains powered outdoor light it needs a proper electrical connection, so we recommend a qualified electrician handles the installation.

Where It Works Best

Think flower beds, low garden walls, gravel paths and the corners of a patio, anywhere you want a pool of warm light close to the ground rather than up on a wall. It also reads well lined up in pairs along a driveway or path.

Elstead Lighting

Does the Parish pedestal lantern come with a bulb? No. It takes one E27 LED bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to fit one before use.

Is the Parish pedestal lantern dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E27 bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't respond to a dimmer switch.

How is the Parish pedestal lantern fixed in place? It bolts down through its hexagonal base onto a hard surface, and because it's mains wired like any outdoor light, we recommend a qualified electrician handles the installation.
