The Majin takes its shape from a classic jar form and glazes it in a deep, glossy oxblood red that shifts to a paler rose where the light catches the curve. It's the kind of lamp that can anchor a whole room's colour scheme on its own.

The porcelain body sits on a dark wooden plinth, and the shade is a cream polycotton, cut in a classic empire shape and edged in a burgundy and gold soutache trim that picks up the colour of the base without matching it exactly.

How it works

It takes a single E27 bulb, and since it's not supplied as an integrated fitting you're free to choose the warmth and brightness that suits the room, including a dimmable bulb if you'd like more control over the mood.

Where it works best

At 56cm tall with a 36cm shade, it has enough scale to work as a statement piece on a console table, sideboard, or large bedside table, somewhere it can be seen rather than tucked into a corner.
