This is the largest of the Louvre pendants, with six bulbs clustered inside a wide steel cage and enough presence to anchor a big room on its own. Rows of angled glass louvres wrap the sides, each one bevelled along its edge, so what would otherwise be a plain box becomes something with real texture and movement in the light.

Painted gunmetal finish

Steel is finished in painted gunmetal, a brushed tone that shifts between silver and near black depending on how the light falls on it, with the clear glass slats adding sparkle rather than colour. Switched off, the frame reads as a piece of industrial hardware in its own right rather than just a housing for the bulbs.

How It Works

Six E27 lamp holders sit in the centre of the cage on a cross shaped bracket, with the glass louvres stacked around all four sides like a run of external shutters. A rectangular ceiling rose and matching chain carry the fitting down from the ceiling, braced at the top by a diagonal cross support that keeps the frame square, and the chain can be shortened or lengthened at fitting to suit the room. It dims happily if you fit dimmable bulbs.

With a drop that can run well over three metres, this one comes into its own over a stairwell, a double height dining space or a large open plan kitchen where you need scale as well as light. It is a fitting built to be the focal point rather than sit quietly in the background.
