Light that hangs rather than juts out

Some porch lights fix flat to the wall and stare straight ahead. The Klampenborg chain lantern does something different, dropping from a run of chain so the light itself sits in the space rather than at the edge of it, with a broad tilted cap shading the bulb below.

A cool silver grey

Powder coated over a 304 grade stainless steel body, this silver grey finish has a slight metallic sheen rather than a flat colour, and it is built to shrug off UK weather without dulling or streaking. Below the cap, a rounded glass shade with a light seeded texture wraps around the bulb.

How it works

One E27 lamp holder sits inside the glass, angled so most of the light spills downward and outward rather than glaring up under the cap. The chain itself is adjustable between 36cm and 97.5cm, giving you room to set the drop to suit a low porch ceiling or a taller entrance.

Where it works best

Good over a front step, along a covered walkway, or wherever a wall mounted lantern would be too wide for the space. Because the fitting hangs centrally rather than reaching out sideways, it tends to suit narrower porches and recessed doorways particularly well.
